Mattison, John S.

John Stead Mattison (1823-1890), a native of England, came to California in 1849, and in 1852 bought 160 acres from the Rodriguez family in what is now Live Oak. A brother, Robert, is profiled in Riptide (CE19). Frank Mattison was a son.
