Nicodemus Andrew Jackson Dorn (1830-1903), born in Kentucky of Dutch-immigrant parents, came to California in 1849, and to the Green Valley area of the Pajaro Valley in 1853 (Riptide CE22). Left for a time, then returned to the Corralitos area with his family in 1860 and remained there. Several Dorn children became judges and district attorneys in other areas of the state. Dorn taught himself to read ancient Greek and Latin, and gave all of his children classical names.
