Sylvester A. Palmer (d.1919) was a "druggist and apothecary" with a store on Pacific Avenue.

The "Palmer family" (presumably the family of S. A. Palmer) lived on Beach Hill in the 1880s, and on Walnut Avenue in the 1990s.

Harrison (p.355) mentions Palmer's drugstore in a profile of Carl Caesar Kratzenstein, stating that he was born in San Francisco and came to Santa Cruz in 1887 to be a druggist when the store was still owned by Palmer's predecessor, J. J. Hug (Harrison spells it "Hugg"). The Sentinel ad at right says "Successor to J. G. Robinson". Robinson's identity has not yet been determined.
