Stephen Gaspar Martinelli (1843-1918, Harrison p.331), born in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland (Ticino), came to the Pajaro Valley in 1859. Harrison states that a brother was already living in the area, but the Find-a-Grave records indicate that it was Stephen's father Louis (1827-1912) who was first to arrive. Stephen went on to create the now-famous Martinelli's apple cider brand. Harrison (p.202) has a section titled "S. Martinelli's Cider and Soda Works".
