Percy T. Phillips (1869-1934) was an M. D. who (according to info on Find-a-grave) came to Santa Cruz in 1905 to enter a medical practice with his brother William (also an M. D.). Phillips was involved with Mary Jane Hanly in the creation of Hanly Hospital, located at the corner of Bay Street and West Cliff Drive from 1904 until the site became today's Dream Inn parking lot. In 1933, Phillips and wife Ruth had a house built on Laurent Street, probably the last local William Weeks design.
