James A. Hall (Harrison p.341), born 1857 in Monterey County near Salinas, and came to Santa Cruz County in 1865 with his parents, settling in Watsonville. He became a lawyer, served one term as county district attorney in 1882, and was elected a state legislator in 1888, before moving to San Francisco in about 1891.

  • Note: the list of county officials in Harrison gives Hall's first name as Joseph.
