William Anthony was shown as a property owner ("tin shop") on the 1866 Santa Cruz map, in "Block No. 1" (Mission Hill) of the core downtown area. The ad at right ran in the Weekly Sentinel beginning in 1864. William was a cousin of Elihu Anthony.
