James Williamson, with partner Edwin Garrett, was in the grocery business on Pacific Avenue. In 1899 the partners had a 2-story brick building constructed. That building was demolished after being damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

James and son John were both Soc. of Pioneers members.
