West, Edward S.

Edward Swift West (1837-1915, Harrison p.299), born in New York state, came to Santa Cruz in 1863. He worked for the California Powder Works, and later for the Pacific Avenue Railroad Company (streetcar). He doesn't seem to be related to Harvey West, namesake of today's city park.
