Clement Henry "Clem" Ward (1865-1898, Harrison p.272), born in Santa Cruz of parents who emigrated from Canada, worked first as a hotel clerk, then as a deputy city clerk, before dying suddenly at age 32. He was a graduate of Santa Cruz High School and Chesnutwood's Business College.
