Santa Cruz Historical Society

Santa Cruz Historical Society was a local-history interest group established in 1954. In December 1986, the group merged with other historical groups under the new organization's name, Santa Cruz County Historical Trust. That group, in turn, merged with the Santa Cruz County Art Museum in 1996 to form what has become today's Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History. From the group's establishment in 1954 into 1977, the group published a periodical newsletter called News and Notes.

Founding member, first president, and editor for 20 years was Margaret Koch.
