Karner, Zadock

Zadock Karner (1811-1894), born in Massachusetts, came to California in 1851 and to Santa Cruz in 1871 (presumably in retirement). Prior to that, Karner had been dairying in Marin County, noted in Elliott as associated with Levi Baldwin. Elliott has a drawing (p.f56) of Karner's residence, on a large lot in the "Bay View" area of the Westside.
Note: in Elliott, his first name is spelled "Zadoc".
