Edward Martin (1831-1912), a native of England, was an early Watsonville resident who became an authority on the history of Santa Cruz County, and a contributor to: Santa Cruz County, Calif. Illustrations, with Historical Sketch (1879 book). In 1911 Martin wrote his own History of Santa Cruz, California . . ..
