Harlie E. [Ellsworth] Irish (1861-1930), a native of Vermont, had a music and stationery store on Pacific Avenue, and served as a bank director. Harrison (p.272) profiles Fred L. Stevens, who was working as a clerk in the Irish store in 1892. His only child was Hettie J. Peters.
