"Colonel" Albert Heath (1826-1887) came to Santa Cruz in the 1860s with his older brother Lucien and Lucien's family. A former Civil War officer, Heath became a Santa Cruz attorney (ad shown at right is from 1873). In 1870, he was part of the team that laid out what is now a city park from the original Mission Plaza. Albert later moved to El Dorado County.
