Cornelius Cappelmann (1830-1888), a saloon owner and spirits wholesaler in Santa Cruz, was a native of Germany. He came to San Francisco in 1850, and to Santa Cruz in 1868.

Cornelius and sons Charles and Oscar were Soc. of Pioneers members.
