Michael Owen Boyle (1805-1890), native of Ireland, came to Santa Cruz in 1858 after a number of years in the gold-mining areas. A stone mason by trade, he may have helped build the 1864 stone county jail, and later helped to build the city reservoir on Logan Heights. A daughter married Mansell Bennett.
