Frank C. [Caen] Alzina (1856-1898), one of fourteen children of Spanish immigrant Francisco Alzina, became a grocer and married Lora, a daughter of William Effey. The family business and residence were on Mission Street. A brother, Enoch, followed his father into the sheriff's dept. Both Frank and Enoch were members of the Pilots hose-cart team in the 1880s.
