S. Waldo Coleman (1882-1972) was first president of the Santa Cruz Seaside Company, formed in 1915 to take over ownership and operation (from Fred Swanton) of what is now the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and associated enterprises. Coleman remained the chief company stockholder until 1946. From 1912-1928, Coleman was also president of Coast Counties Light and Power Company, one of the predecessors of today's Pacific Gas & Electric company.
