Significant historical churches, extant or not. Harrison's history includes a section (beginning on page 209) titled "Churches", which lists/describes the churches that existed/had existed up to 1892. A much-shorter version of that section was included in the abbreviated 1890 publication.
In addition to the Catholic parishes in Santa Cruz, Aptos, and Watsonville, Harrison listed the Protestant churches: "In Santa Cruz there are the Congregational, Methodist, German Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Christian, Adventist, and Universalist; in Soquel, the Congregational; in Corralitos, the Christian; at Highland, the Presbyterian; at Ocean View, the Congregational; in Boulder Creek, the Methodist; in Watsonville, the Presbyterian, Christian, Methodist, Episcopal, and Danish Church. In Santa Cruz there is a Spiritualistic organization, and a branch of the Theosophical Society."
