The Riverside Avenue bridge spans the San Lorenzo River near its mouth, upstream from the San Lorenzo trestle. The first bridge was built in 1930 but was damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, and rebuilt in 1991. The first bridge at this location was the 1899 "Cut bias" bridge, so named because it crossed the river at an angle.
