Leask family
From Santa Cruz County history wiki
Samuel Leask (1861-1964), a native of Scotland, bought the Seaside Store dry goods business on Pacific Avenue from the Place brothers. Soon after, Leask built a new store named Leask's. The store expanded to absorb neighboring structures, including the first city firehouse on Church Street. The Leask family continued in that business into the 1980s, with a family home on Green Street. The store building was torn down because of damage from the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
