Thurber, Lucretia

Lucretia Thurber (1844-1907), a daughter of Benjamin Knight, married Henry Thurber, a native of Rhode Island. Lucretia is shown on the 1889 "Hatch Map" as owner of a large parcel in what is now the Eastside neighborhood of Santa Cruz. Henry Thurber died in 1889, so title to the property may have passed to his widow Lucretia only a short time before the map was prepared. These Thurbers may or may not be related to I. L. Thurber, for whom no burial record was found.
