Ocean Villa was a hotel/boarding house built in 1870 at the end (now Ocean View Park) of what was soon to become Ocean View Avenue, overlooking the lower San Lorenzo River. The proprietor was Massachusetts native George H. Bliss. Ocean Villa can be seen with its prominent signage, in an 1876 panoramic oil painting.
