Glenwood is a rural residential area in the Santa Cruz Mountains, north east of Scotts Valley. It was established at the west end of a tunnel dug for the South Pacific Coast Railroad in 1879-80. Laurel was established at the other end of the same tunnel, which cut through a ridge below present-day Highway 17.
