George Colegrove(or Colgrove, 1843-1936) drove a stagecoach on the road over the mountains from San Jose to Santa Cruz, later owning his own stage company. Later still, he made a successful career transition, switching from driving horses to driving an "iron horse" for the South Pacific Coast railroad.
