W. H. Galbraith (b.1849) was Santa Cruz County's representative to the California Assembly when Harrison's history was written in 1892, his 2nd term. Born in Vermont, he came to California/Santa Cruz in 1876 (Harrison is not clear on this). While serving as a school teacher/administrator in Santa Cruz and elsewhere, he bought a 256-acre property "six miles northeast of Santa Cruz" (Vine Hill area) where he planted grapes and orchards, becoming a viniculturist.
