* Adna Hecox was appointed to be the first lighthouse keeper when the structure was completed in 1869.

A very well-researched, well-sourced, and well-written history of the Point Santa Cruz area and its lighthouse. Includes information on: Stevenson, Jonathan D., Rountree, Almus L., Phelan, James, Pelton, Julius, Abbott, Chuck and Esther, Hecox family, Dingee, William J., Doeltz, Louis C., Warren, Elizabeth F., Ulrich, Rudolph, Anderson, Arthur, Lighthouse Field State Beach.

Notes:
