Ed Haggerty is noted in Sidewalk Companion as someone who moved several houses to and/or along Laurel Street "when the Laurel School grounds were enlarged", so he was presumably a building contractor and/or house mover. Additional info (including the date inferred by "when the Laurel School grounds were enlarged") awaits further research (nothing in Find-a-grave).
