Mrs. Rosanna "Annie" Bowen (1836-1905), a native of New Orleans, had an a duplex (aka "double tenement") built on Chestnut Street in 1877. After the John Dreher house was demolished following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, the Bowen structure was moved to the corner of Elm Street and Center Street, where it remains today.
