Joscelyn, W. R.
From Santa Cruz County history wiki
W. R. Joscelyn and his wife Juliana Aldrich Joscelyn both claimed the title "Dr.", and were a popular public speaking team in Santa Cruz during the last quarter of the 1800s, an era when interest in spiritualism reached a peak in the U.S. His wife, confusingly calling herself "Mrs. Dr. J. Aldrich Joscelyn" advertised (in the 1882 Sentinel ad at right) as a "medical healer" offering "clairvoyant diagnosis". They maintained joint offices at their 1884 hexagon-shaped Sycamore Street home, which survives today.
