Santa Cruz Fire Department
From Santa Cruz County history wiki
(Redirected from Fire Department Station No. 2)
The Santa Cruz Fire Department arose from groups of early volunteer fire-fighters such as the hose-cart teams. The first city fire station (1890s) was just off Pacific Avenue on Church Street.
Today's downtown fire station, shown at right, was built with WPA funds in 1936-40, at the same time as and nextdoor to the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium.
