Bailey, Sanford H.

Sanford Hunt Bailey (1840-1927; Harrison p295), born in Maine, came to Santa Cruz in 1868 and opened a retail jewelry business. At left is the earliest Sentinel ad found, from 1868. "Baldwin's Store" may refer to the 1866 Alfred Baldwin building on Pacific Ave. S. H. Bailey doesn't seem to be related to Dr. F. E. Bailey.
